Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IMF-001 is a therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by ImmunoFrontier, Inc., consisting of the NY-ESO-1 cancer-testis antigen protein complexed with cholesteryl pullulan (CHP) nanoparticles. NY-ESO-1 is a highly immunogenic antigen frequently expressed in a variety of solid tumors—including melanoma, esophageal, and ovarian cancers—but typically restricted to germ cells in normal adult tissues. The CHP nanoparticle delivery system serves as a molecular chaperone, facilitating the efficient delivery of the NY-ESO-1 protein to antigen-presenting cells (APCs). Once internalised by APCs, the complex promotes the presentation of multiple epitope peptides through both MHC class I and MHC class II pathways. This dual presentation triggers robust, coordinated CD8+ cytotoxic T-lymphocyte and CD4+ helper T-cell immune responses designed to recognize and eliminate NY-ESO-1-positive tumor cells.
