Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Imgatuzumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody designed for the treatment of cancer. It targets the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and acts as an immunomodulator. The drug exerts its antitumor effects through multiple mechanisms, including antagonism of EGFR signaling, inhibition of cell proliferation, induction of apoptosis, and strong antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Imgatuzumab is glycoengineered to enhance ADCC activity. It was developed by Genentech/Roche and later by PegaOne (a subsidiary of Centessa). Clinical development reached up to phase II in several solid tumors but has since been discontinued for all indications[1][2][3][4][6][7][8].
