Overview

IMGN1994 is a clinical-stage anti-BCMA (B-cell maturation antigen) degrader currently in Phase 1 development for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Developed by Inmagene Biopharmaceutics, the candidate is part of a pipeline of immunology assets involved in a 2024 merger with Ikena Oncology. IMGN1994 is designed to target and degrade BCMA, a protein primarily expressed on the surface of plasma cells and late-stage B cells, which play a central role in the production of pathogenic autoantibodies in SLE. By utilizing a targeted protein degradation mechanism, IMGN1994 aims to provide a more potent and durable depletion of these cells compared to traditional inhibitory monoclonal antibodies, potentially offering a novel therapeutic approach for autoimmune diseases.
