Overview
Imidazole salicylate is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. It acts primarily by inhibiting thromboxane A2 synthase without significantly interfering with the cyclooxygenase pathway or prostaglandin synthesis, which distinguishes it from many other NSAIDs. This mechanism provides effective pain and inflammation relief while minimizing gastrointestinal and renal side effects commonly associated with traditional NSAIDs. Imidazole salicylate is used for conditions such as osteoarthrosis, musculoskeletal trauma, arthritis, muscle strains, and other musculoskeletal disorders. It has demonstrated good gastric tolerability and can be safely administered to elderly patients with rheumatic diseases or those sensitive to aspirin. Additionally, it does not impair kidney prostaglandin synthesis or renal function in patients with decompensated cirrhosis[1][3][4][5][6].
