Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This drug is a **combination therapy** consisting of imlunestrant (an oral selective estrogen receptor degrader, SERD), abemaciclib (a cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 inhibitor), and an aromatase inhibitor (such as anastrozole, letrozole, or exemestane). Imlunestrant targets the estrogen receptor, abemaciclib inhibits CDK4 and CDK6 to block cell cycle progression, and aromatase inhibitors block estrogen synthesis. The combination is being investigated for the treatment of hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. The regimen is intended to maximize endocrine blockade and cell cycle arrest, thereby inhibiting tumor growth in patients whose cancers depend on estrogen signaling.
