IMM-002 (IMMvention Therapeutix)

IMM-002 is an oral small molecule inhibitor of BTB and CNC homology 1 (BACH1) being developed by IMMvention Therapeutix in collaboration with Novo Nordisk. BACH1 is a transcription factor that negatively regulates the Nrf2-mediated antioxidant response and suppresses the expression of genes involved in heme metabolism and cytoprotection, such as heme oxygenase-1 and fetal hemoglobin. By inhibiting BACH1, IMM-002 promotes the activation of the Nrf2 pathway, which provides therapeutic potential in treating oxidative stress and inflammation-driven conditions. The drug is currently in preclinical development for various chronic non-CNS conditions, including metabolic and kidney diseases. In January 2025, Novo Nordisk entered into a global license and collaboration agreement for IMMvention's systemic BACH1 inhibitors, which includes the IMM-002 program.
