Overview

IMM-H014 is a novel small molecule drug under development for the treatment of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). It is an original compound with a collateral phenyl structure and has demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity as well as the ability to increase insulin sensitivity in preclinical studies. IMM-H014 was designed based on bicyclol, a hepatoprotective agent approved in China for chronic hepatitis; however, IMM-H014 exhibits improved pharmacokinetic properties and enhanced liver-protective effects compared to bicyclol. The drug is being developed in extended-release tablet formulations and is currently undergoing phase 1 clinical trials in China. Its precise mechanism of action involves modulation of nuclear factor pathways but remains incompletely characterized[1][3][4][6][8].
