IMM02-KORA (also known as KORA) is a small molecule kappa opioid receptor (KOR) agonist being developed for the treatment of dyskinesia associated with Parkinson's disease, specifically levodopa-induced dyskinesia (LID). Originally developed by Toray Industries, the candidate was licensed to Immunis for development and commercialization in the United States, Canada, and Europe. The drug functions by selectively activating kappa opioid receptors in the brain, which are involved in modulating the dopaminergic pathways that become overactive during chronic levodopa therapy. Preclinical studies in rat models have shown that IMM02-KORA can significantly reduce dyskinesia scores. Immunis has submitted an Investigational New Drug (IND) application to the FDA to initiate Phase I clinical trials.
