IMM91

IMM91 (also known as IMC-011) is a monoclonal antibody developed by ImmuneOnco Biopharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of ImmuneCare, that targets the pro/latent form of Growth Differentiation Factor 8 (GDF-8), commonly known as myostatin. Myostatin is a member of the TGF-beta superfamily that serves as a potent negative regulator of skeletal muscle mass. By specifically binding to the latent precursor of GDF-8, IMM91 prevents its proteolytic cleavage and subsequent activation into the mature signaling molecule. This inhibition of myostatin signaling is intended to promote muscle growth and increase muscle mass, offering a potential therapeutic approach for muscle-wasting conditions and sarcopenia. The drug is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
