Immuncell-LC is an autologous adoptive cell therapy composed of cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells derived from a patient's own peripheral blood mononuclear cells. These cells are expanded and activated ex vivo over 2–3 weeks to generate a population rich in cytotoxic T lymphocytes and CIK cells with potent anti-tumor activity. The product is administered intravenously as an adjuvant immunotherapy following curative resection or ablation of tumors, primarily for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Immuncell-LC has demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing recurrence risk and improving recurrence-free survival in early-stage HCC patients. It is also under clinical development for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, adenocarcinoma of the gastroesophageal junction, glioblastoma multiforme, metastatic colorectal cancer, refractory/relapsed neuroblastoma, and other solid tumors. Developed by GC Cell (formerly Green Cross Cell), it received regulatory approval in South Korea for HCC adjuvant treatment in 2007 and has been used to treat thousands of patients with a strong safety profile[1][4][5][6][8].
