Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ImmuniCell is an autologous cell therapy developed as an anti-cancer immunotherapy. The treatment involves the expansion of a patient’s own gamma delta T cells over several weeks, which are then re-infused to target and attack cancer cells. This approach leverages the innate immune properties of gamma delta T cells, aiming to provide a broad-spectrum anti-tumor effect across various cancer types. The technology was initially developed and commercialized by Medinet in Japan, where it has been used to treat numerous cancer patients. TC Biopharm has further developed and trialed this therapy in Europe for cancers such as melanoma, kidney cancer, and lung cancer[9].
