Overview
Immunoflazid is an herbal immunomodulatory and antiviral drug developed by the Scientific and Manufacturing Company Ecopharm Ltd. in Ukraine. It is formulated as a syrup containing 2% Proteflazid, which is an ethanol extract derived from the wild grasses *Deschampsia caespitosa L.* and *Calamagrostis epigeios L.*, containing biologically active carboxylic acids and flavonoids. The drug exhibits a dual mechanism of action: it inhibits key viral enzymes involved in replication, including DNA polymerase, thymidine kinase, reverse transcriptase, and neuraminidase, and it acts as an immunomodulator by stimulating the synthesis of endogenous alpha and gamma interferons. Immunoflazid is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of influenza, acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), and herpesvirus infections in both children and adults. It also demonstrates antioxidant properties and enhances local mucosal immunity.
