Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Immuron refers to a line of hyperimmune bovine colostrum products developed by Immuron Ltd, notably including IMM124-E and the commercial product Travelan. These products contain immunoglobulins, specifically LPS antibodies, which primarily target enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) to prevent infectious diarrhea. They also demonstrate cross-reactivity and efficacy against Shigella antigens and are suggested to have activity against Salmonella species. Additionally, Immuron products exert an immunomodulatory effect, increasing T regulatory cells, glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1), and adiponectin, which contributes to alleviating insulin resistance and liver damage in conditions like Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH).
