Imogam Rabies-HT

Imogam Rabies-HT is a human rabies immunoglobulin (HRIG) developed by Sanofi Pasteur. It is a sterile, non-pyrogenic solution of antirabies antibodies (IgG) prepared from the pooled plasma of human donors who have been hyperimmunized with a rabies vaccine. Imogam Rabies-HT is indicated for passive, transitory post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) against rabies infection when administered promptly after exposure to a rabid or potentially rabid animal. It provides immediate neutralizing antibodies that bind to the rabies virus at the site of inoculation and in the systemic circulation, preventing the virus from entering the central nervous system. It is typically used in conjunction with a full course of rabies vaccine, which provides long-term active immunity. The product undergoes a solvent/detergent treatment process for viral inactivation.
