Overview

IMSB301 is a novel, orally available small molecule designed to specifically inhibit the enzyme cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS), thereby preventing production of the cGAMP signaling molecule and halting pathologic inflammation. The drug acts as a potent and specific inhibitor of cGAS enzymatic activity, resulting in profound suppression of cytokine production. In preclinical studies, IMSB301 has demonstrated efficacy in rescuing disease phenotype and premature death in models of Aicardi-Goutières Syndrome (AGS). ImmuneSensor Therapeutics is developing IMSB301 primarily for cGAS-driven Type I interferonopathies such as AGS, cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE), and selected populations with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The drug also has potential applications in other diseases characterized by cGAS-driven inflammation, including diabetic kidney disease, age-related macular degeneration, and various autoimmune disorders[1][3][5][6][7].
