Overview

IMU-131 + ramucirumab + paclitaxel is an experimental combination therapy under investigation for advanced or metastatic HER2/neu-overexpressing gastric or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma. IMU-131 (also known as HER-Vaxx) is a B-cell cancer vaccine designed to stimulate an immune response against the HER2/neu receptor. Ramucirumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting VEGFR-2, inhibiting angiogenesis, and paclitaxel is a taxane-class chemotherapeutic that stabilizes microtubules, disrupting cell division. The combination aims to leverage immune activation, inhibition of tumor angiogenesis, and cytotoxic chemotherapy. The regimen is studied mainly in patients who have progressed after trastuzumab therapy[1].
