IMU-201 + atezolizumab + chemotherapy is an investigational combination therapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). IMU-201 (PD1-Vaxx) is a B-cell epitope peptide vaccine designed to stimulate polyclonal anti-PD-1 antibodies, potentially overcoming resistance to monoclonal antibody checkpoint inhibitors by inducing both humoral and cellular immune responses. Atezolizumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting PD-L1, acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor. Chemotherapy is used according to standard of care protocols. The combination aims to enhance antitumor immune responses by leveraging a vaccine-based approach to induce immunity against PD-1, alongside direct checkpoint blockade (atezolizumab) and cytotoxic chemotherapy. IMU-201 comprises a peptide from the human PD-1 protein linked to a T-cell epitope from the measles virus fusion protein, formulated for intramuscular administration. Clinical trials are ongoing to assess safety, immunogenicity, and preliminary efficacy in patients with PD-L1 positive NSCLC who have progressed on prior checkpoint inhibitor therapy[1][3][5].
