Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Imunoglukan P4H is a branded nutritional supplement designed to support the immune system. It is a combination product containing a patented, highly purified natural beta-(1,3/1,6)-D-glucan called pleuran (or IMG), which is isolated from the oyster mushroom *Pleurotus ostreatus*, and vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Some formulations may also include zinc. The product acts as a non-specific immunomodulator, promoting both innate and adaptive immunity. Clinical studies have investigated its effects on reducing the incidence of secondary infections in patients with Crohn's disease, as well as its potential to decrease the frequency of respiratory tract infections in children and athletes. It is available in various forms, including capsules and a liquid syrup. The product line is developed and manufactured by the Slovakian biotechnology company, Pleuran, s.r.o.
