Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Imupret is a traditional herbal medicinal product developed by Bionorica. [4, 5] It is a combination of seven plant extracts: marshmallow root, oak bark, chamomile flowers, dandelion herb, horsetail herb, yarrow herb, and walnut leaves. [1, 3, 5] Imupret is indicated for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections such as the common cold, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and laryngitis. [3, 4] It is used at the first signs of a cold, including a scratchy or sore throat, coughing, and difficulty swallowing. [4] The product is available as oral drops and coated tablets. [1, 6] The therapeutic rationale is based on the combined immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties of its herbal components, which are intended to support the body's natural defense mechanisms against respiratory pathogens.
