IMVT-1402 is a next-generation, fully human monoclonal antibody that acts as an antagonist of the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn). It is designed to reduce circulating levels of immunoglobulin G (IgG) by blocking FcRn, which normally protects IgG from degradation. By inhibiting FcRn, IMVT-1402 accelerates the breakdown of pathogenic IgG antibodies implicated in various autoimmune diseases. The drug has demonstrated potent IgG-lowering effects with minimal impact on albumin and cholesterol levels in early clinical trials, distinguishing it from earlier anti-FcRn therapies such as batoclimab. IMVT-1402 is being developed primarily for the treatment of IgG-mediated autoimmune conditions including myasthenia gravis (MG), Graves' disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. Its subcutaneous administration may allow for convenient self-injection by patients[1][2][3][5][6][8].
