Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IMX-150 is an investigational topical aqueous formulation of nitroglycerin developed by Procris Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). As a nitric oxide donor, nitroglycerin acts as a vasodilator and is hypothesized to modulate vascular function and nitric oxide-mediated signaling pathways to alleviate neuropathic pain. The drug was evaluated in a Phase 2, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, dose-response study (NCT00416351) completed in 2008, which assessed the efficacy of 0.3% and 0.6% topical doses applied twice daily to the feet of patients with diabetic distal symmetrical sensorimotor polyneuropathy.
