Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IN026 is an investigational mRNA-based protein-replacement therapy developed by InnoRNA Biotech for the treatment of refractory gout. It utilizes a proprietary lipid nanoparticle (LNP) platform to deliver mRNA encoding the enzyme urate oxidase (uricase; UOX) to the liver. Once expressed, the UOX enzyme facilitates the systemic breakdown of uric acid into allantoin, a more soluble metabolite that is easily excreted. This approach aims to provide long-term disease control and represents a potential first-in-class mRNA therapy for chronic metabolic disorders.
