Overview

Inactivated Bifidobacterium breve 207-1 is a postbiotic (inactivated microbial) preparation derived from a specific strain of *Bifidobacterium breve* originally isolated from the intestinal tract of healthy newborns in China. Developed by By-Health, the strain is deposited at the Guangdong Province Collection of Microorganisms under accession number GDMCC No. 60962. The inactivated form consists of heat-killed bacterial cells that retain biological activity, including the ability to stimulate macrophage immune responses and increase the secretion of the anti-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-10 (IL-10). Research indicates that it modulates the daf-2/daf-16 (insulin/FOXO) signaling pathway, which is involved in metabolic regulation and longevity. It is being investigated for a range of therapeutic applications, including inflammatory bowel diseases, allergic conditions (by reducing serum IgE levels), metabolic syndrome (glycolipid metabolic disorders, obesity, and fatty liver), and mental wellness conditions such as stress, insomnia, and fatigue via the microbiome-gut-brain axis.
