inactivated H1N1 vaccine (University of Rochester) is a monovalent inactivated influenza vaccine developed for the prevention of the 2009 pandemic H1N1 influenza virus. The vaccine was evaluated in clinical trials sponsored by the University of Rochester to investigate the immune response in different age groups and the impact of prior immunological priming. It consists of inactivated virus particles, typically the A/California/07/2009 (H1N1)pdm09 strain, and is administered via intramuscular injection. The primary mechanism of action involves the induction of hemagglutination inhibition (HAI) antibodies against the viral hemagglutinin protein, which prevents the virus from binding to and entering host cells.
