inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (Vero cell) Beijing + inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (Vero cell) Wuhan

This is a combination of two inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines developed by Beijing Institute of Biological Products and Wuhan Institute of Biological Products, both subsidiaries of Sinopharm's China National Biotec Group (CNBG). Both vaccines are produced using traditional inactivated virus technology, where SARS-CoV-2 virus strains are grown in Vero cells, inactivated with chemicals (beta-propiolactone or formaldehyde), purified, and then combined with aluminum hydroxide as an adjuvant. The Beijing vaccine (BBIBP-CorV) uses strain HB02 and has shown 78.1% efficacy against symptomatic cases and 100% efficacy against severe cases. The Wuhan vaccine uses strain KMS-1 and has demonstrated good immunogenicity. Both vaccines are administered as two-dose regimens via intramuscular injection.
