inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (WIBP)

The inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (WIBP), also known as WIBP-CorV, is a whole inactivated virus COVID-19 vaccine developed by the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products (WIBP), a subsidiary of the China National Biotec Group (CNBG) under Sinopharm. The vaccine utilizes a chemically inactivated (typically with beta-propiolactone) version of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (Vero cells) to stimulate an immune response. It is designed to elicit neutralizing antibodies against the spike protein and other viral components to prevent symptomatic COVID-19 infection.
