Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination regimen involves the co-administration of Sinovac's CoronaVac (an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine) and an inactivated quadrivalent influenza vaccine (IIV4). CoronaVac is a whole-virion inactivated vaccine produced in Vero cells, designed to elicit neutralizing antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and other viral antigens. The IIV4 component contains inactivated antigens from four influenza strains, typically including two influenza A subtypes (H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B lineages (Victoria and Yamagata). This combination was evaluated in a Phase IV clinical trial (NCT04801888) to assess the safety and immunogenicity of simultaneous administration, aiming to streamline vaccination schedules during overlapping viral seasons.
