Inactivated split influenza virus haemagglutinin is a monovalent vaccine antigen derived from the A/Singapore/GP1908/2015 (H1N1) strain (A/Michigan/45/2015-like). Developed by Vaxxas, this antigen is specifically designed for delivery via the company's proprietary High-Density Microarray Patch (HD-MAP), a transdermal platform featuring thousands of microprojections that deposit the vaccine into the immune-cell-rich layers of the skin (dermis and epidermis). The antigen targets the influenza haemagglutinin (HA) surface glycoprotein to elicit protective immune responses, including haemagglutination inhibition (HAI) and microneutralisation (MN) antibodies. Clinical studies have demonstrated significant dose-sparing potential, with low doses delivered via HD-MAP achieving comparable immunogenicity to standard intramuscular injections.
