Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Inactivated staphylococcus albus is an oral bacterial preparation composed of killed *Staphylococcus albus* (now taxonomically classified as *Staphylococcus epidermidis*). Developed and manufactured by Shenhua Pharmaceutical, it is primarily utilized in China as a non-specific immunomodulator for the treatment of chronic bronchitis and recurrent respiratory tract infections. The preparation is designed to stimulate the host's immune system, particularly the non-specific immune response, thereby increasing resistance to bacterial pathogens in the respiratory tract. It is administered in the form of oral tablets and is considered an oral bacterial vaccine or lysate-like therapy.
