Inbakicept is a dimeric human interleukin-15 receptor alpha (IL-15Rα) sushi domain/human IgG1 Fc fusion protein that acts as an IL-15 receptor agonist. It is one of the active components of the fixed-dose combination product Anktiva, which also contains nogapendekin alfa. In this combination, inbakicept forms a complex with two nogapendekin alfa molecules to mimic and enhance the biological actions of interleukin-15 (IL-15). The drug stimulates activation and proliferation of natural killer (NK) cells and CD8+ memory T cells, thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. Inbakicept, as part of Anktiva, is approved for use in combination with Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) for adults with BCG-unresponsive non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) with carcinoma in situ (CIS), with or without papillary tumors[2][5][6].
