Indigofera astragalina extract is a botanical extract derived from the medicinal plant *Indigofera astragalina*, which is traditionally used in Sudanese and Ayurvedic medicine. Preclinical research, including studies by the University of Nottingham, has demonstrated that methanol extracts of the plant (specifically referred to as extract 6) possess selective growth inhibitory and pro-apoptotic activities against human breast cancer cell lines, such as MDA-MB-468. The extract induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, as indicated by increased Annexin V staining and cleaved PARP levels. Additionally, the plant extract has been studied for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antidiabetic properties.
