Overview

This is a combination regimen consisting of three drugs: - **Indinavir** is an antiretroviral protease inhibitor used primarily in the treatment of HIV infection. It inhibits the HIV-1 protease enzyme, preventing viral replication. - **Vinblastine** is a vinca alkaloid antineoplastic agent that binds to tubulin, inhibiting microtubule formation and arresting cell division at metaphase. It is used in various cancers including Hodgkin lymphoma, testicular cancer, and Kaposi's sarcoma[3][5][7]. - **Bleomycin** is an antitumor antibiotic that induces DNA strand breaks through free radical formation, leading to inhibition of DNA synthesis and apoptosis. It is commonly used for Hodgkin lymphoma, testicular cancer, and other malignancies. While vinblastine plus bleomycin (often with cisplatin) are established regimens for certain cancers such as testicular cancer and Kaposi's sarcoma[1][6][8][10], there are no standard regimens or clinical evidence supporting the use of indinavir together with vinblastine and bleomycin as a fixed combination therapy for any specific indication. However, drug-drug interaction data exist due to overlapping use in patients with both HIV (treated with indinavir) and malignancy (treated with chemotherapy)[2][9]. Indinavir can inhibit CYP3A4-mediated metabolism of vinblastine, potentially increasing toxicity risk[2][9].
