Overview

Indium-111-2IT-BAD-m170 is a radiolabeled monoclonal antibody-based radioimmunoconjugate designed for imaging and dosimetry in cancer patients, particularly those with metastatic prostate cancer. The drug consists of the murine monoclonal antibody m170, which targets adenocarcinoma cells, conjugated via the chelator 2-[p-(bromoacetamido)benzyl]-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-N,N',N",N"'-tetraacetic acid (BAD) and 2-iminothiolane (2IT), to the radionuclide indium-111. Its primary mechanism involves specific binding to tumor-associated antigens on adenocarcinoma cells; after intravenous administration, it enables gamma camera imaging of metastatic lesions due to emission from indium-111. This agent is used for patient selection and dosimetry prior to therapeutic administration of yttrium-90-labeled analogs. It has been studied in phase I clinical trials for targeting and palliation in androgen-independent metastatic prostate cancer[1][3][5].
