Overview

Indium-111 besilesomab (indium-111-labelled anti-CD66 antibody) is a radiolabelled diagnostic and dosimetry imaging agent. It consists of besilesomab, a murine monoclonal antibody targeting CD66b (specifically CEACAM8/NCA-95, expressed on granulocytes and their precursors in the bone marrow), conjugated with the radioisotope indium-111. It is used as a companion diagnostic and dosimetry surrogate for yttrium-90-labelled besilesomab (TLX66) to determine the biodistribution and radiation dose delivered to the bone marrow and other organs prior to targeted radiotherapy. This theranostic approach is being evaluated for bone marrow conditioning prior to autologous stem cell transplantation in patients with systemic AL amyloidosis, multiple myeloma, and leukemia. The development of this imaging agent is associated with University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and Telix Pharmaceuticals.
