Overview

Indium-111 CC49 is a radiolabeled murine monoclonal antibody used as a diagnostic imaging agent. It consists of the CC49 IgG antibody, which specifically targets tumor-associated glycoprotein 72 (TAG-72), a high-molecular-weight mucin-like antigen overexpressed in various adenocarcinomas, including colorectal, gastric, breast, and ovarian cancers. The antibody is labeled with the radioisotope Indium-111, which emits gamma radiation suitable for detection via gamma camera or Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT). In clinical oncology, 111In-CC49 is primarily utilized to localize metastatic disease and perform patient-specific dosimetry to predict the distribution and absorbed dose of therapeutic counterparts, such as Yttrium-90 (90Y-CC49), thereby facilitating a theranostic approach to cancer treatment.
