Indium-111-labeled monoclonal antibody 1A3 is a murine monoclonal antibody (MAb 1A3) conjugated with the bifunctional chelating agent N,N'-bis(2-hydroxybenzyl)-1(4-bromoacetamidobenzyl)-1,2-ethylenediamine-N,N'-diacetic acid and radiolabeled with the gamma-emitting isotope indium-111. This radioimmunoconjugate is designed for radioimmunoscintigraphy to detect colorectal carcinoma lesions. MAb 1A3 binds to a lipid antigen enriched in human colon cancer cells, enabling targeted imaging of tumor sites. In clinical studies, it demonstrated high sensitivity for detecting nonhepatic abdominal-pelvic tumors and recurrent rectosigmoid cancer, with a positive predictive value of approximately 83%. The agent is primarily used as an imaging diagnostic tool rather than for therapeutic purposes[1][9][6].
