**Indium-111 ZCE-025** is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic agent comprised of the ZCE-025 monoclonal antibody labeled with the radioisotope indium-111. ZCE-025 is a complete IgG1 monoclonal antibody with a molecular weight of approximately 160,000 daltons, directed against carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), a marker often overexpressed in colorectal cancers. The mechanism involves intravenous administration of indium-111-labeled ZCE-025, which selectively binds to CEA-expressing tumor cells, allowing for gamma imaging to identify occult or metastatic colorectal cancer lesions in patients with elevated CEA levels and negative conventional workup. The agent’s targeting specificity leads to localization of the radiotracer at tumor sites, enabling nuclear imaging and detection of tumor recurrence or metastasis. Clinical trials have demonstrated its utility in accurately detecting colorectal carcinoma recurrence, with optimal sensitivity achieved when coinfused with an excess of unlabeled ZCE-025 to improve biodistribution[1][2][5]. The antibody can elicit a human anti-mouse antibody response in a significant proportion (>40%) of patients[2].
