Overview

111In-IgG is a radiopharmaceutical consisting of nonspecific human immunoglobulin G (IgG) labeled with the radioisotope Indium-111. It is primarily utilized as a diagnostic imaging agent in nuclear medicine for the localization of focal inflammation and infection, leveraging the natural accumulation of IgG at sites of immune activity. In preclinical oncology research, 111In-IgG serves as a critical negative control for immuno-PET or SPECT studies; by comparing its biodistribution to that of a target-specific antibody, researchers can differentiate between antigen-mediated uptake and nonspecific accumulation caused by the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect or blood pool activity. The tracer typically exhibits a long circulatory half-life, reflecting the pharmacokinetics of native IgG.
