Overview

Indium in-111 satumomab pendetide is a radiopharmaceutical composed of the murine monoclonal antibody satumomab (B72.3) conjugated to the chelator pentetic acid (DTPA) via a tripeptide linker and labeled with the radioisotope indium-111. The antibody specifically binds to tumor-associated glycoprotein 72 (TAG-72), an antigen expressed by most adenocarcinomas including colorectal and ovarian cancers. Upon intravenous administration, the radiolabeled antibody localizes to TAG-72–expressing tumor cells, allowing for gamma camera imaging due to emission of gamma radiation from indium-111. It was developed as a diagnostic agent for cancer imaging and was marketed under the trade name OncoScint but is no longer commercially available[1][2][3][6].
