Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Indocyanine green + SPY-PHI is a combination medical product comprising indocyanine green, a water-soluble near-infrared fluorescent dye, and the SPY-PHI imaging system, a fluorescence imaging device. Indocyanine green is administered intravenously or interstitially, where it binds to plasma proteins and absorbs near-infrared light, emitting fluorescence at a slightly longer wavelength. The SPY-PHI system detects this fluorescence, allowing real-time visualization of blood flow, tissue perfusion, lymphatic mapping, and extrahepatic biliary anatomy during surgical procedures. The product is primarily used as an intraoperative diagnostic imaging adjunct in various surgical and oncological applications. Indocyanine green itself possesses no pharmacological or therapeutic activity; its function is purely as an optical imaging agent.[1][3][5]
