indomethacin + naproxen

This drug is a combination of two nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), indomethacin and naproxen. Both agents work by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenase enzymes, which reduces prostaglandin synthesis, leading to decreased inflammation, pain, and fever. Indomethacin is used for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, and closure of patent ductus arteriosus in premature infants. Naproxen is indicated for similar inflammatory conditions including rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis as well as acute gout and dysmenorrhea. The combination has been studied in coamorphous forms to improve physical stability and dissolution rates compared to the individual drugs alone. However, concomitant use of these two NSAIDs is generally not recommended due to increased risk of serious side effects such as gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding[1][4][5][6][9].
