Overview

Indomethacin + prochlorperazine + caffeine is a fixed-dose combination drug consisting of indomethacin (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug), prochlorperazine (a phenothiazine antiemetic and antipsychotic), and caffeine (a central nervous system stimulant). This combination is primarily used to treat acute migraine and episodic tension-type headache. Indomethacin acts as a cyclo-oxygenase inhibitor to reduce inflammation and pain, prochlorperazine provides antiemetic effects through dopamine receptor antagonism, and caffeine acts as a mild analgesic adjuvant, possibly through vasoconstriction and CNS stimulation. The combination is available in various oral (effervescent, coated tablet) and rectal (suppository) formulations and is most commonly marketed as Difmetré in Italy[4][1][5].
