Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Indukantham Tablet is a polyherbal Ayurvedic formulation developed by Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala. Traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine for its immunomodulatory and anti-pyretic properties, it is indicated for the management of fevers and the enhancement of the body's natural immune defenses. During the COVID-19 pandemic, research conducted by the Centre for Medicinal Plants Research (CMPR) identified potential anti-viral activity against SARS-CoV-2, leading to its inclusion in certain COVID-19 management protocols in India. As a traditional polyherbal preparation, its therapeutic effects are attributed to the synergistic action of its constituent herbs rather than a single defined molecular target.
