Drug intelligence / Profile preview
INE-1001 is a small molecule drug candidate being developed by Innerva Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of Dry Eye Disease (DED). It is designed as a topical ophthalmic formulation that targets PIEZO2, a mechanosensitive ion channel. PIEZO2 is involved in sensing mechanical stimuli on the ocular surface, and its modulation is hypothesized to alleviate symptoms associated with DED, such as pain and discomfort. The drug is currently in the IND-enabling/preclinical stage of development.
