Overview

INF-002 is a preclinical-stage short hairpin RNA (shRNA) gene therapy developed by Bavarian Systems and Technologies GmbH (BST BIO) for the treatment of psoriasis. The therapy is designed to target and silence the expression of NFKB inhibitor zeta (NFKBIZ), a key transcriptional regulator that mediates the IL-17 signaling pathway, which is central to the pathogenesis of psoriasis. By utilizing shRNA to downregulate NFKBIZ, INF-002 aims to suppress the expression of downstream inflammatory genes, thereby reducing the chronic skin inflammation and plaque formation characteristic of the disease. The drug is intended for topical administration, leveraging BST BIO's specialized delivery platform for dermatological applications.
