Overview

INF904 is an orally administered, small molecule inhibitor that targets the complement component 5a receptor 1 (C5aR1) with high affinity and selectivity. It binds to an allosteric site on C5aR1 within the lipid bilayer, antagonizing the binding of complement component C5a and thereby blocking induction of neutrophil activation. This mechanism disrupts inflammatory pathways and has demonstrated over 90% effectiveness in blocking C5a-induced neutrophil activation in ex vivo assays. INF904 is being developed by InflaRx for complement-mediated, immune, and inflammatory conditions, with initial clinical focus on chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) and hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). The drug has shown anti-inflammatory effects in several preclinical disease models and favorable safety/tolerability profiles in Phase 1 studies. Additional potential indications under consideration include nephrology, neurology, and hematology[1][2][4][5][6][7][8].
