Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Infectim is a probiotic-based product line developed by Astel Medica, specifically formulated to support urogenital health by restoring the natural balance of the vaginal and intestinal flora. The product line includes Infectim (vaginal capsules) and Infectim+ (oral capsules), which contain specific strains of lactic acid bacteria such as *Lactobacillus rhamnosus*, *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, *Lactobacillus reuteri*, and *Streptococcus thermophilus*. These probiotics function by adhering to mucosal surfaces, producing lactic acid to maintain a low pH environment, and generating antimicrobial substances that inhibit the growth of pathogens like *Gardnerella vaginalis* and *Candida albicans*. Infectim is used for the prevention and treatment of vaginal dysbiosis, bacterial vaginosis, and yeast infections.
