Overview

InflammaD is a sustained-release intraocular micro-implant being developed by EyeD Pharma for the treatment of inflammatory conditions affecting the posterior segment of the eye, commonly referred to as the "back of the eye." These conditions include diabetic macular edema (DME), retinal vein occlusion (RVO), and posterior uveitis. The drug candidate utilizes EyeD Pharma's proprietary non-biodegradable polymeric technology to provide controlled, long-term delivery of a corticosteroid (likely dexamethasone) directly to the site of action. This micro-implant is designed to be approximately 300 µm thick, aiming to reduce the frequency of intravitreal injections, improve patient compliance, and minimize the side effects typically associated with systemic or frequent local steroid administration.
