This is a combination of two drugs, infliximab and lamivudine. Infliximab is a chimeric monoclonal antibody that targets tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), used primarily for the treatment of autoimmune inflammatory disorders such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, and plaque psoriasis. It works by binding to TNF-α and inhibiting its pro-inflammatory activity[1]. Lamivudine is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) used in the treatment of HIV infection and chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It inhibits viral reverse transcriptase by acting as a chain terminator during viral DNA synthesis[4][6]. There are no known fixed-dose or branded combinations of these two agents; their co-administration may be considered in specific clinical scenarios such as patients with both an autoimmune disorder requiring infliximab and concurrent HBV or HIV infection managed with lamivudine[3].
