Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Infliximab-dyyb is a biosimilar to infliximab (Remicade), classified as a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitor. It is a chimeric human-murine IgG1 monoclonal antibody that binds with high affinity to soluble and transmembrane forms of TNF-alpha, thereby inhibiting its activity. This mechanism reduces inflammation and immune-mediated tissue damage in autoimmune diseases. Infliximab-dyyb is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis in adults (and children for some indications), rheumatoid arthritis (in combination with methotrexate), ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, and chronic severe plaque psoriasis. The drug is available as both intravenous infusion (Inflectra) and subcutaneous injection (Zymfentra). It was developed by Celltrion as the first biosimilar to Remicade approved in the US[1][5][6][7][9][10].
